What to do if you find a tick?

If you find a tick on you it doesn’t always mean you will get Lyme Disease. Here are some steps to take if you get bit:

  • Watch the bite location for a rash or bull’s eye. Not all cases of Lyme develop a bull’s eye rash and sometimes the rash is in a different place than the bite.
  • Mark your calendar. Lyme symptoms can start a few days to one month after the bite. Take all symptoms seriously.
  • Advocate for yourself
  • Get the tick tested (http://ticklab.org)
